After an insane morning of landing tickets to The Wave, I found out the only time to see Upper Antelope Canyon was that afternoon. Actually, when I inquired about tickets at the tour company, the last available tour was leaving in 15 minutes.
We were shuttled to the entrance of the slot canyon, which actually starts in a river bed. Lower Antelope Canyon is accessed through a massive crack in the ground. These two unique natural wonders couldn’t be more different. I’ve had the good fortune of exploring the lower canyon twice, the first time before anyone knew it existed, or at least before it became a huge money-making tourist spot.
